Welcome to Pages to Planes!

Writer | Wanderer | Adventurer

My name is Maddie and I am the creator of Pages to Planes.

In 2023, I quit my job and left home on a one-way flight to New Zealand. I didn’t come home until fourteen months and nine countries later. But I did come home–and I promised myself I would not loose my adventurous spirit despite no longer living the solo travel life.

Because adventure is a mindset–and I’m determined to make my own adventures wherever I go!

Find adventure. Write it down.

This blog

I am an aspiring author who is fascinated by culture, people, and the wonder of the world around me. What you’ll find on Pages to Planes is an eclectic mix of solo travel musings, family bowhunting stories, mountain-love, and great adventures. You’ll also find lots of photos–because a picture might be worth a thousand words, but I think a thousand words deserves a lot of pictures. All photos are mine.

Posts are organized into three categories: Urban, Wild, and In-Between.

Looking for stories about small towns and side roads? In-Between is for you.

Or, if you want to see posts clearly organized by region, you can do that too!

I’d love to hear from you!

Writing is a solo endeavor, so don’t let me be a hermit! I’d love to hear about your great adventures or even meet up for an adventure. The world is small–let’s be friends!
